3rd Annual 5K | About HSOC

	The Humane Society of Ottawa County (HSOC) is a 501c(3) no-kill animal shelter that was established in 1976. Since then it has grown to be an important service to the community, not only for animals, but for adults and children as well. Their goal is to turn unwanted, uncared for and abused animals into loving members of new families. They are dedicated to a program of spaying and neutering animals to ensure that more animals find their way into caring homes. They maintain a "NO KILL" standard within humane guidelines. With plans to build a new shelter, they are waiting to gain adequate funds before beginning any construction. The annual "Float Your Boat" 5K is helping HSOC reach this goal.
